American
Roofing LLC Frequently Asked Questions
Q:
How do I know if my roof has problems?
A:
Most of the time roof problems are discovered after a damage
has occurred from a leak. However, not all leaks produce visible
damage immediately. Some leaks can occur for up to a year
(longer in rare cases) before showing any signs of damage.
For this reason it is important have your roof inspected at
least once per year by a qualified contractor.
Q:
How long should my roof last?
A: That depends on a few factors (roof type, pitch/slope of
the roof, ventilation, installation, maintenance, and weather).
As a rule of thumb: Basic three tab fiberglass shingle: 15
to 25 years. Flat roof: 5 to 15 years.
Q:
What is the best time of year to have my roof replaced?
A: There is none. This is a bit of a myth, roofing materials
are safe to install year round in our service area.
Q:
Do you install metal/steel roofs?
Yes. American Roofing LLC installs and repairs metal/steel
roofs with color blends to compliment any exterior.

Are your roofers full-time employees, or are they sub-contracted
or day labor?
My roofers are full-time employees, drug tested and
wear company issued uniforms.
What
about permits? Does your roofing company pull the building
permit?
Yes. It's included in the price.
Can the customer pay the supply company directly for materials?
Yes you can. We have current accounts with all our
suppliers, and they are willing to receive payments from our
customers, if requested.
What warranties do you give?
We give a 10-year or 20-year installation warranty
from American Roofing LLC, covering leak repair and defects
in installation. The material manufacturer will give their
own product warranty for the longevity of the product. We
will cover this in detail during our in-home consultation.
What
types of roofs do you install?
All kinds. We will explain all this at our initial meeting.
Do you clean up the job site?
Yes. Daily and upon completion. We cover landscaping and move
all lawn furniture.
Do you replace all flashing's?
Yes, as needed.
What
about gutters?
We recommend gutters on most roofing jobs, but this depends
upon your circumstances, age of gutters, etc. Normally when
a roof is ready to be replaced, the gutters are nearing the
end of their useful life. It's more cost effective to replace
the gutters when the roof is being installed, and saves disturbing
the perimeter of your new roof at a later date. We offer a
lifetime warranty on gutters we install.
What about skylights?
If you are considering a skylight, the time to have the work
done is when re-roofing.
What about sun tunnels?
Sun tunnels are a less expensive skylight system. We do install
sun tunnels. Ask us for a quote.
